⚠️ Payment & Cancellation Policy
Important: Please review before applying.- Deposits ($585) are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
- All payments made to CUPS Mission are non-transferable (cannot be applied to another traveler, trip, or future program).
- If a traveler cancels for any reason, only partial refunds (if applicable) may be issued according to the official CUPS Mission Cancellation Policy.
- If CUPS Mission cancels the trip in its entirety, travelers will be refunded the base trip cost of $2,285. Refunds will not include airfare, personal expenses, or third-party costs.

Requirements
Prerequisites
- PASSPORT - All travelers must have a valid passport that will REMAIN VALID for at least 6 months past the start date of their trip. You will need at least TWO BLANK PAGES for your trip. If you do not have enough blank pages, you will need to apply for a new passport.
- FAQs - All travelers are encouraged to review our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on our website, CUPSMission.com prior to departure.
- WHATSAPP - All trip participants will be required to download the app "WhatsApp" in order to participate in ongoing online chats and monthly virtual meetings leading up to the trip.
- SERMONS and/or LESSON PLANS - All travelers will be required to either preach or teach while in Malawi. All male travelers will be preaching at least once in the Pastor's School and men's groups. All female travelers will be teaching various ladies' groups and children's groups.
- YOUR TESTIMONY - All travelers must have a simple version of their personal testimony prepared and be willing to share it while on the mission field. A 5-point testimony outline is available in Training Module #5.
Responsibilities
- TRIP PAYMENTS - Once deposits are paid, all trip members are responsible for ensuring trip payments are made by the required due dates (2nd pmt due 90 days prior to trip departure with the final pmt due 60 days prior to departure).
- FUNDRAISING - All registered trip members will receive an editable Personal Fundraising Page through ServiceReef. Members are encouraged to share this page via social media, email, and text with family and friends to help offset trip costs.
- TRIP INSURANCE - All registered trip members are required to obtain travel insurance for their trip. You must provide proof of coverage prior to departure to travel to the Malawi with CUPS Mission. If you do not purchase coverage, you will not be eligible to travel with CUPS Mission.
Restrictions
- SOLO TRAVELERS re: Age Requirement - Solo travelers must be 18 years of age or older by the date of departure for their selected trip week.
- MINORS re: Supervision - All minors must be accompanied by at least 1 responsible adult for the duration of the trip week.
- PHYSICAL ACTIVITY - If you have a pre-existing medical condition, please consult your healthcare provider to ensure you are able to safely participate in this trip. At a minimum, you should be prepared to walk long distances over uneven terrain and lift 30 pounds or more.
Preparation
- NEXT STEPS - All travelers will be guided through a series of preparatory steps at periodic intervals leading up to departure—such as UPLOADING FILES, signing the CUPS Mission DIGITAL WAIVER, signing the CUPS Mission MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING and making scheduled TRIP PAYMENTS.
- PRE-TRIP TRAINING - All travelers are required to participate in online chats and multiple virtual meetings via WhatsApp leading up to the trip.
- PRE-TRIP PREP - Everyone will be required to submit sermon notes and/or lesson plans for CUPS staff review prior to trip departure.
- TRIP TRAVELER GUIDE - All trip members will be provided with a guide that outlines a personal packing list, examples of on-the-ground mission activities, a tentative schedule for the week, and much more. This guide will be available in everyone's ServiceReef account.
- SUGGESTED READING - All travelers are encouraged to read "When Helping Hurts" and/or "Cross-Cultural Servanthood" prior to departure.
