🌍 About the Trip

We are thrilled that you are interested in serving with us in the Dominican Republic in 2026! When you join with others from across the U.S. as part of a mission team, you’ll get a glimpse of the daily life of an on-the-ground CUPS Missionary.
  • 👥 Up to 40 participants (groups and individuals) will serve together in and around the town of Sosúa.

💵 Trip Cost

  • $925 per traveler (airfare not included)
    • $300 application fee (non-refundable, non-transferrable)
    • $325 payment due 90 days before departure date
    • $300 payment due 60 days before departure date

Important: Please review before applying.       
  • Deposits ($300) are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • All payments made to CUPS Mission are non-transferable (cannot be applied to another traveler, trip, or future program).
  • If a traveler cancels for any reason, only partial refunds (if applicable) may be issued according to the official CUPS Mission Cancellation Policy.
  • If CUPS Mission cancels the trip in its entirety, travelers will be refunded the base trip cost of $925. Refunds will not include airfare, personal expenses, or third-party costs.

Requirements

Prerequisites

  1. PASSPORT - All travelers must have a valid passport that will REMAIN VALID for at least 6 months past the start date of their trip.
  2. FAQs - All travelers are encouraged to review our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on our website, CUPSMission.com, prior to departure.
  3. TRIP TRAINING SESSION via ZOOM - All group leaders, solo travelers and/or family groups will be required to attend at least 1 TRAINING SESSION prior to departure. If you are traveling with a group, your group leader will pass along all information discussed at this meeting.
  4. YOUR TESTIMONY - All travelers must have a simple version of their personal testimony prepared and be willing to share it while in the DR. A 5-point testimony outline is available in Training Module #5.

Responsibilities

  1. TRIP PAYMENTS - Once deposits are paid, all trip members are responsible for ensuring trip payments are made by the required due dates (2nd pmt due 90 days prior to trip departure with the final pmt due 60 days prior to departure).
  2. FUNDRAISING - All registered trip members will receive an editable Personal Fundraising Page through ServiceReef. Members are encouraged to share this page via social media, email, and text with family and friends to help offset trip costs.

Restrictions

  1. SOLO TRAVELERS re: Age Requirement - Solo travelers must be 18 years of age or older by the date of departure for their selected trip week.
  2. GROUPS re: Leader Requirements - All groups must designate 1 leader to serve as the primary point of contact with CUPS staff, both stateside and while in the DR. Groups exceeding 20 members must maintain a ratio of at least 1 designated leader for every 10 group members while in the DR.
  3. MINORS re: Supervision - All minors must be accompanied by at least 1 responsible adult for the duration of the trip week, with a minimum ratio of 1 adult for every 5 students.
  4. MINORS re: Room Assignments - Minors will not be assigned to a room with fewer than 2 other individuals, except when sharing with an immediate adult family member.
  5. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY - If you have a pre-existing medical condition, please consult your healthcare provider to ensure you are able to safely participate in this trip. At a minimum, you should be prepared to walk long distances over uneven terrain and lift 30 pounds or more.

Preparation

  1. NEXT STEPS - All travelers will be guided through a series of preparatory steps at periodic intervals leading up to departure—such as UPLOADING FILES, signing the CUPS Mission DIGITAL WAIVER, and making scheduled TRIP PAYMENTS. Your group leader will instruct you on how and when to complete these tasks.
  2. DONATION REQUESTS for the MISSION - All trip members are asked to bring 1 CHECKED BAG filled with specific items to be donated to the mission in the DR. This list can be found at cupsmission.com/serve/, and is also under RESOURCES on the Opportunity Page. Your group leader will also have a copy to distribute. We recommend using a secondhand suitcase for these donations that can be left behind in the DR.
  3. TRAINING MODULES - All travelers are required to watch our training modules, either individually or as a group, prior to departure. Your group leader will provide you with the links to these modules, or you can visit cupsmission.com/serve/.
  4. TRIP TRAVELER GUIDE - This guide outlines a personal packing list, examples of on-the-ground mission activities, a tentative schedule for the week, and much more. It can be found under RESOURCES on the Opportunity Page. Your group leader will also have a copy to distribute.
  5. SUGGESTED READING - All travelers are encouraged to read "When Helping Hurts" and/or "Cross-Cultural Servanthood" prior to departure.
  6. E-TICKET - All travelers will be contacted seven days prior to departure (according to the Dominican Republic Government’s policy) with instructions on how to complete the DR International Travel E-Ticket. You must have this to enter and exit the country.
  7. *PLEASE do not complete or submit any materials until contacted by your group leader or Mary Cameron Dillard (CUPS Mission Trips Coordinator).
